Summer parties at the Beach Club



To animate the warm summer nights, Dunas Douradas Beach Club is organising two parties, a pool party and a beach party.
The pool party will take place on the evening of Sunday 15th July and the beach party on Saturday 28th July.
They promise to be nights with lots of fun, entertainment and great music.  Bring your friends and join us for these unforgettable occasions.

New Year's Eve is a wonderful time of celebration, new beginnings, and fun. Here at the Dunas Douradas resort we believe that this year deserve an extra special start. Dunas Jazz Sessions


Coming up this October, the first Dunas Jazz Session, and who's better than Sheila Jordan to Start it, she is one of the main Jazz singers from all times still alive, with a long carreer Sheila is now 80 years old but still a fantastic voice to listen to.
The concert will take place on October 9th at 22:30.

Art Exibition - Ricardo Inacio


"Myself" is the title of the exibition taking place at the recception here in Dunas Douradas Beach Club until the end of September.

Ricardo has been painting for many years and his art work can be seen in many places arround the Algarve, beautifull tale paintings and surrealistic canvas, he is an artist full of criativity and mistery.

Come and enjoy some of his lattest works on canvas.

This Months Cocktail - "The Cucumber Martini"

"Excuse me Bartender, there's a poem in my gin"

"Gin and the Bore "
“A gin is a gin is a ginswore the bore nothing odd can be.” But if that gin should win eleven botanicals inoh, then what a gin it would be. So we tricked him in bed, gave him Hendrick’s instead then fully sober, he shouted with glee “this gin is not gin like others that be yet it tastes even more like gin to me.”

4 or 5 slices of cucumber
1 1/4 oz Gin hendrick's
3/4 oz Midori melon
1/4 oz Simple syrup
Dash of fresh lime

Muddle the cucumber with the simple syrup and the fresh lime in a mixing glass then add the gin and the midori.Shake well and double strain into a chilled martini glass.Decorate with a slice of cucumber and a mint leave.

Mexican Night, a great success !!!

With the weather challenging the Dunas staff for a raining evening, the Mexican night last thursday happened to be a great success.

All the staff at Dunas Douradas Beach Club put their best dedication for the preparations, the food was excellent, the best margaritas and an evening of entertainment for everyone, together, the musician Pedro Mariani and the Bartender Mr. Próspero took the crowd on fire with their jokes, great songs and bartending performances , one of the higgests moments of the night was the live performance of one of our young guests, singing a Robbie Williams song.

Was great to hear the comments the day after, from the guests, talking about the great evening they had the night before.

Having been playing and gigging since the age of 11, the word 'entertaining' comes naturally to Andy Knox. This 20 year old Scot was driven on by a musical and creative family as well as by artists such as REM, Squeeze, Genesis and the ‘Brit-Pop’ era of the 90s. Armed with his acoustic guitar & a unique, husky voice, Knox has to date (May 2008) released a download single (‘Feel Me’ – Sept 2007; available from iTunes), supported Sandi Thom, Jack McManus & Ocean Colour Scene and had his single used as the backing track to Jack Wills winter collection advert. Songs of love, anger, reason and the future may initially put this youngster into the clichéd bracket of a "depressed" singer/songwriter, but he is much more than that....

"Olè señores thursday night is Mexican Night"

This week ,here at DDBC the featured Buffet night will be dedicated to the Mexican flavours.


Followed by live music and entertainment, you will be able to try the tradicional spicy flavours from the Mexican cuisine, gently prepared by our chefs, and sip the best Margaritas at our "Margarita Madness Bar".
The main pleasure that mercado food gives, naturally, is in the eating. Nonetheless, Mexican gastronomy has another angle that is almost as much fun: That of knowing its historical roots.


"...In 1519, when the first Spanish conquistadors entered the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan, where today Mexico City stands, they found the Aztec emperor Montezuma excessively fond of a drink concocted from vanilla and chocolate, and sweetened with honey. This was a native Mexican-Indian dish -- probably invented by the Maya -- later to find worldwide acceptance. Vanilla is a substance derived from the fruit-pod of a certain species of Mexican orchid, and chocolate comes from the fruit of the Mexican cacao tree. The conquistadors were further impressed by the variety of foods enriching Aztec diets.

Quesadillas are one of the mainstays of Mexico's street-side stands, and are considered quintessential Mexican. It turns out that they, like Mexicans themselves, are hybrid creations, half indigenous and half Spanish. The corn tortilla on which quesadillas are based is native American; the cheese, as well as the pork, and/or beef that may accompany the cheese, is Spanish; of the garnish, the hot-sauce made with chili pepper is indigenous, but the shredded lettuce is Spanish..."
