Sérgio Ribeiro is now part of the Louletano/Dunas Douradas cycling team
The Dunas Douradas Beach Club management is very proud to announce that Sérgio Ribeiro is now part of the Louletano/ Dunas Douradas Beach Club cycling team, as team leader.
Sérgio is originally from Matosinhos (North of Portgual ), is 32 years old and won important tours both in Portugal and Spain in recent years. He was elected Portuguese cyclist of the year in 2011 and 2012, being considered one of the favourites for a medal position in the Tour of the Algarve 2013.
The Louletano / Dunas Douradas cycling team is part of a group of five teams that presented to the Portuguese Cycling Confederation the proposal for a Continental project, along with Carmim- Prio, Efapel-Glassdrive, LA Alumínios Antttart and the OFM-Valongo.
We wish Sérgio and all of the Louletano / Dunas Douradas Beach Club team every success in their campaign in 2013.

Dunas Douradas Beach Club & the“38ª Volta ao Algarve”
DDBC was one of the official sponsors of the”38ª Volta ao Algarve” that took place between 15th and 20th February 2012.
The first stage began here in the beautiful Dunas Douradas Beach Club in a clear morning and a vibrant atmosphere with clients, friends and cycling enthusiasts gathering to see the famous cyclists.
Two of the most prestigious teams, Saxobank and Team Sky, were staying here at DDBC for the whole week.
Bradley Wiggins (Team Sky) made it a perfect week for his British team by winning the final stage time trial. Wiggins’ teammate, Richie Porte, finished third on the stage, 13 seconds down, and secured the overall in the race. The Portugal race is a key stepping-stone used by a number of Grand Tour contenders in the build up to the Tour de France.
The Norwegian cyclist Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky Procycling) - pictured here with Dunas Douradas Beach Club CEO, Evy Ougendal) won the Stage 2 of the event.
The overallresult of the tour was as follows:
1) Richie Porte (Aus) - Team Sky 2) Tony Martin (Ger) - Omega Pharma 3) Bradley Wiggins (GBr) - Team Sky The team event was won by Sky procycling (GBr) followed by Omega Pharma/ Quickstep (Bel) and Lotto- Belisol, also from Belgium.
