The Charity Bridge Tournament that took place at the Beach Club last Friday 20th November was a fantastic success with 64 playing participants. The event raised close to € 4000 from donations, playing fees and a very well stocked tombola that had some fantastic prizes donated by local businesses and residents.
The purpose was to raise funds to help the ACCA (Helping children in need in the Algarve).
On a beautiful sunny autumn day, a buffet lunch was served on the terrace of The Albatroz Restaurant here at the Beach Club for participants and guests prior to the competition.
The ambience was pleasant and everyone had a wonderful afternoon.
Special thanks to the organizers of this event are well deserved. They all put in a lot of time and effort to make the event happen and give it the success it had. Particular thanks are given to:
- Susan Hart, the main event organizer;
- Constantino Jordan, the main sponsor and for giving the prizes;
- Elizabeth McManus, who organized the fantastic tombola prizes;
- Alex Onions, who put in so much effort to organize the Bridge competition and scoring;
- Mo and Gwenda Daud and Janet Leffler for their help and organization;
- All of the generous sponsors who made contribuitions;
- The 64 players who took part in this event
