Halloween 2009

By October 31st the nights are getting longer and cooler, and it's easier to imagine another world of ghosts, zombies, witches, vampires and goblins. But Halloween isn't just about ghosts, witches and monsters or about candy or costumes. Halloween is a bit of all this, and is specially a perfect time for spending a good time with family and friends.
Bring your children and join us to enjoy the Halloween 2009!

Here is the PROGRAMME:

Age Groups: 3yrs to 7yrs and 8yrs to 12 yrs
3.00pm	Choose your Costume Making of Costumes for Fashion Show
4.30pm	Halloween Snacks
5.00pm	Halloween "Witch" Treasure Hunt with Prizes
6.00pm	Completion of Costumes and Face Painting
7.00pm	Dinner Costume Parade and Judging
Price per Child: 35€ (Dinner included)

Children may bring acessories to enhance their costumes as they so wish i.e. wands and broom sticks

Arts & Crafts and other traditional Halloween Games will take place throughout the afternoon too.

Prizes will be awarded for "Best Costume", "Most Creative Costume" and "Funniest Costume"

Friday 20th November at 2 pm with cocktails at 6-7pm

Other Information:The format will be 3 sections of up to 8 tables playing a Mitchell Movement with prizes for sections and overall. All sections will play the same boards and copies of hands with commentaries will be available at the end.

Reservations must be made in advance for the tournament, cocktails and buffet lunch (if required)

Cancellations within 48 hours of the event may be liable to pay full price
Entries to the Tournament will be limited to 48 pairs and accepted strictly in order of receipt.

Art Exhibition @ Dunas Douradas Beach Club Algarve

Fine art is very important to us at the Beach Club. To help promote young and promising artists we will exhibit works of a new artist every month.
From the impressionists to the realists and modern artists, we find artists from our local community and display them around the resort for public viewing. We change them every month and there are opportunities to purchase the artwork. So stop by to take a peek; all are welcome.

Portuguese Week at Dunas Douradas Beach Club

Portugal's National Day, officially "Day of Camões, Portugal and the Portuguese Communities", marks the date of 'Luis de Camões' death in June 10, 1580 and is Portugal's National Day. Camões wrote the Lusiadas, Portugal's national epic poem celebrating Portuguese history and achievements. Although it is only officially celebrated in Portugal, Portuguese descendents throughout the world celebrate the holiday whether they live in Brazil, India, the US, Canada, another European country, or Macau.



Here, at the Beach Club we decided to dedicate the whole week to the theme. We are organising a Portuguese Week between the 6th and the 13th of June. We have lots of surprises and special events planned for you. So, join us and enjoy:


Daily Specials

Our chef will dedicate each day of the week to a specific
Portuguese region with typical dishes.



A small "Tradicional Market"

During this week, we will have a traditional market on our terrace,
with stalls selling typical portuguese products.
Open every day from 6.00 pm to 11.00pm.


A Fado Night - 10th June

On the 10th of June we will celebrate Portugal's National Day
with a special dinner of typical Portuguese dishes and
Live Fado Music.

A Ranch folk night - 13th June

We have saved the Ranch Folk Night for the "grand finale".
